Trading Card of the Week: Legion of Superheroes
Trading Card of the Week: Legion of Superheroes... featuring Saturn Girl and Duo Damsel. Saying I'm honored and thrilled to have done so much work with the Legion characters never feels like enough. I would love to work with the characters more... of course! But getting to ink so many covers featuring the classic versions of the Legion, and then doing trading card art too, was a real treat. An utter thrill. What's even more fun is knowing this art is owned by the man who owns the world's largest comic book collection, Mr. Bob Bretall... who is also a friend. As a kid growing up in the 80s and into the 90s whose whole collecting thing started with trading cards, I would spend hours looking at my cards, imagining creating cards myself. All my trading card art was created traditionally. Back then, I was heavily influenced by the art of Mac Raboy and Reed Crandall. I wonder if it shows? Here for your viewing pleasure are the roughs, inks, and final colors. Enjoy. -Dave B.
