Cover Art Weekly: SMK #1 (Sailor Moon Knight)
I thought it might be fun to showcase cover art here on the blog. Obviously, covers I worked on cuz I can provide context and commentary not only on what went into the creation... but also cuz I have access to the high-resolution files. Our first cover will be the recently released homage cover for SMK #1. This is a loving salute not just to the classic first appearance of Moon Knight but also to the great art of Gil Kane & Al Milgrom. I love Gil Kane's art, specifically his work on Green Lantern. Al Milgrom... not only an incredible penciler & inker but also co-created one of my fav characters, Firestorm. We'll be talking about Firestorm soon on here in depth (I did work on Brightest Day after all ). The goal was to translate our characters from the parody Sailor Moon Knight Universe into this classic scene... keep a bit of the vibe of both. It was not the easiest task, but I'm very proud of it all the same. Want to add the comic to your collection? Check out the shop.
